I have a small home studio where I cut stones till my heart is content, which it must never be content because I can't get enough gemcutting! Often I will look at a rough shape for a long time or even let it rest for several weeks before I decide what shape will cut the best yield. Sadly enough, gemcutters usually get 20-30% yield from the original rough stone. The cutting and polishing of a stone can take anywhere from 2 to 20+ hours depending upon shape, number of facets, and size.
The gem rough are sourced from trustworthy, reliable sources from around the world.
I sell worldwide.
I am also a graduate gemologist (GIA).
